Paulís interest in Nordic walking began in 2012 at Latrobe University when attending a seminar updating research on rheumatoid arthritis. He saw there, young women being robbed of their mobility because of how this disease affects them.

He began investigating how people with conditions which severely limit their mobility could be helped if they came to Total Care Podiatry. This led to him becoming an accredited instructor with both the Australian Nordic Academy and the International Nordic Walking Federation.

Paul has developed two streams of nordic walking assistance in Geelong:

Nordic Walking for Health, a modified technique to assist people with physical limitations, and

Nordic Walking for Fitness, to get more aerobic benefit and use more muscles than normal walking.

Total Care Podiatry supports community involvement in nordic walking through Nordic Walking Geelong.
