What is Nordic Walking?

Nordic Walking is a relatively new physical activity that involves walking with specially designed poles and a learned technique to create a low stress, total body workout. It can be done almost anywhere and by almost anyone. Nordic Walking offers many attractive benefits to the whole body with the added support of poles and with less stress and strain on your joints.

Who can benefit?

Nordic Walking Classes are suitable for:

  • All age and fitness levels
  • People who have, or wish to prevent, a chronic musculoskeletal condition
  • Both beginners and those with some Nordic Walking experience

Participants must be able to walk at least 100 metres without a walking aid.

What are the benefits?

Nordic Walking is a low-impact form of fitness walking which results in a low impact, high results, total body fitness workout. Nordic Walking increases cardio fitness, burns more calories and activates 90% of muscles as compared to normal walking.
